Privacy Policy

Our approach

Footing uses information to provide movement tracking, progress, community, account, support, and beta features. We do not sell personal information, serve behavioral advertising, or use personal information to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Information we collect

• Account and profile information: email address, account identifier, profile details you provide, and an optional profile photo.
• Movement and wellness information: run routes, distance, duration, pace, goals, streaks, readiness information, and optional check-ins such as soreness, sleep quality, stress, or illness status.
• Location: precise location during an active run and, only when you enable nearby community, an approximate area represented by a shortened geohash.
• Community and app activity: friendships, cheers, blocks, reports, Home progress, and settings.
• Device and support information: an Expo push token when notifications are enabled and sanitized diagnostics you deliberately choose to share. Local diagnostics are not uploaded automatically.
• Waitlist information: first name, email address, signup source, browser user-agent, and the time of signup. The site uses an IP address temporarily in server memory for abuse prevention but does not store it in the waitlist database.

How we use information

We use information to:

• authenticate accounts and operate requested app features;
• record runs and provide history, progress, and movement plans;
• provide user-controlled community and notification features;
• moderate reports, prevent abuse, and protect the service;
• answer support, privacy, and account requests; and
• manage the waitlist and send requested beta or product-access messages.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate Footing, including Supabase for authentication, databases, and file storage; AWS for the Footing API; Vercel for this website; Resend for waitlist email; Expo for enabled push delivery; and Apple platform services on iOS. These providers process information only to provide their services to us and are expected to protect it consistently with their agreements and applicable law.

Visibility and sharing

Community features show only profile and movement fields permitted by your privacy settings. Precise run routes are not shown to other runners. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate protections.

Retention and deletion

Account and run information, including saved GPS routes, remains until you delete your account or request deletion. Reports may be retained as needed for safety, abuse prevention, and legal obligations. Waitlist information remains while the beta or launch program is active unless you ask us to remove it. Limited records may be kept when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Your choices

Profile settings let you control discovery, nearby community, community visibility, and notifications. You can permanently delete your Footing account and associated app data from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You may request access, correction, deletion, or removal from the waitlist by emailing support@groundedmotionlabs.com.

Security and changes

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as Footing changes and will update the date above when we do.
